It is so easy to do, you dont have to go to a catering school to learn.
Easy peasy right.
Ingredient
1 teaspoon of dry yeast
1½ teaspoon of sugar
1 cup of flour
A pinch of salt
A cup of water
Vegetable oil
These are the quantity of ingredients I used to make the puff puff but you can double the amount depending on the quantity of people you want to cater for.
Method
- Add the yeast to the cup of water and allow to dissolve by stirring
- Add the sugar to the dissolved yeast and stir
- Also add a pinch of salt and stir
- Cover the mixture for some few minutes using aluminum foil or any substitute and allow to rise for some minutes
- Then add the yeast after it has risen to the flour and stir
- Cover the flour with aluminum foil and allow to rise for 45 minutes
- The batter would have doubled in size and there will be no air bubbles
- Then it is ready for frying, it must be a little thicker
- Scoop some batter into the oil with your hand by pressing the batter to come out from between your thumb and index finger.
- Put in more scoops of the batter, as much as the space in the frying pot will allow without overcrowding.
- Once the underside of the puff puff has turned golden brown, flip the ball so that the topside will be fried as well
- Enjoy your puff puff
