Character, Character, Character

Character is the bedrock of any person development in life. Without a good character, it will be difficult for you to be successful in life.
“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”
― John Wooden
To know someone of a good character, get to define them by their actions, because actions pay a long way in defining someone’s character.
For example, A man who tells you he will keep to his promises, but never stick to them, what do you think of such person. He does not betray you once but most of the times, that person is not of a good character. He does not keep to his promises.
If you hide your character for so long, it will surely surface one of these days, you can never pretend for so long.
We define our character by our words, values, actions, attitudes, belief system e.t.c
What character are you portraying, how do you want the world to perceive you, are you a man pleaser or a person of great value that people can vouch for anytime anyday.
As Abraham Lincoln said Character is like a tree and reputation its shadow. The shadow is what we think it is and the tree is the real thing.
The tree is the real thing in the sense that that is what defines your totality as a human being.
If the tree (character) is not well rooted then it will be entirely be cut away by friends, people, loved ones.
Build a godly character that will be worthy of emulation by all so that your reputation will be a noteworthy one.
We can take a cue from the bible, an example of a person with godly character was Job, He was a perfect man and he eschewed evil. He was one of the righteous man in the Bible, even satan testified of that. When his wife told him to curse God and die, inspite of the tribulations he faced, he did not heed to her. His character stood the test of time.
Remember your character is what determines how we respond to situations of life
